The economics of Obamacare from the customer’s perspective

April 1st, 2014 · No Comments

– Robert Light Much ink and bits have been written about the economics of Obamacare from the taxpayer’s perspective – but little has been written about Obamacare from the perspective of a consumer. In the “real world”, before you create a product, you spend a lot of time understanding your customer – what will motivate […]

Smaller government, lower taxes – what is the Tea Party really saying?

December 14th, 2012 · No Comments

– Robert Light There is great confusion in the United States over the advent of the “Tea Party”…. some say “TEA” means “Taxed Enough Already”.   Everyone is amazed that such a grass-roots movement just “sprang to life” and has become a dominant force in today’s political discourse. But what are the Tea Party folks […]

Why should “Those who pay no taxes” care about tax rates?

September 23rd, 2012 · No Comments

– Robert Light Governor Romney, in a rather inept/inarticulate moment, commented that the 47% of American’s who pay no income taxes probably don’t care about the tax rates paid by the tax-paying segment of America. It was inept because it shouldn’t be true. The non-tax paying Americans ultimately pay dearly for the tax policies imposed […]

Why are there no Muslim “Thomas Jeffersons”

September 13th, 2012 · No Comments

– Robert Light Many people have puzzled as to why, with the advent of “The Arab Spring”, has there not appeared any equivalent to America’s founding fathers such as Thomas Jefferson, a bold, clear thinker who could verbalize, define and motivate his fellow citizens to rally around a cause that will bring the entire society […]

Free speech is a right – it is NOT a weapon.

November 22nd, 2011 · No Comments

– Robert Light I bid you all to read the article at the NYPost and particularly watch the video of the violence which resulted. ‘Occupy Wall Street’ — It’s Not What They’re for, But What They’re Against

October 23rd, 2011 · 2 Comments

– Robert Light Sally Kohn has penned a fantastic column on FoxNews’ website – it should be read by everyone because it sheds real light on the Occupy movement…. as much as a “breakthrough moment” might happen in your therapist’s office. Her basic premise is that what is fueling the Occupy folks is the incredible […]

Post Goldstone

May 1st, 2011 · No Comments

– Robert Light Historians will most undoubtedly take note of Justice Goldstone’s  attempt, as he said, to… begin a new era of evenhandedness at the U.N. Human Rights Council, whose history of bias against Israel cannot be doubted. Throwing off the principle of “innocent until proven guilty”, Judge Goldstone ignored Israel’s storied history of going […]

Stephan Lerner – SEIU

March 24th, 2011 · No Comments

– Robert Light Stephan Lerner, an upper level SEIU official had some radical things to say about how to solve our nation’s woes: “We have an entire economy that is built on debt and banks so the question would be what would happen if we organized homeowners en-mass to do a mortgage strike if we […]

The Angry Rich

September 21st, 2010 · No Comments

The “rich” are “angry”…not because they are being asked to pay more taxes…they are angry for a very simple reason: rich people absolutely hate to see their money wasted.

Behind the phrase “disproportional response”

January 6th, 2009 · No Comments

About this time during any Israeli attempt to deal with the terrorist hordes which surround her, with the punctual precision of the precession of the earth about the sun bringing spring flowers, world leaders trot out the old tired indictment that Israel is guilty of using “disproportionate force”.

I must admit that when someone I know trots out the indictment of disproportionate force, my first impulse is to say something to the effect: “That’s the stupidest comment I’ve ever heard”.

Lately, however, I’ve started to actually listen to those who complain that Israel is using “disproportionate force”.
